Box Organs
Johan Deblieck's box organs have brought him international fame. Box organs are by definition small; therefore, designing such instruments is one of the greatest challenges for an organ builder. First and foremost, the instrument must possess tonal beauty. But equally important is that this sound must function as a reference point for small and large ensembles. In addition, practical demands are made regarding tuning stability, portability, and durability. Through years of experience and dialogue with leading musicians, Johan Deblieck has continually developed the basic model of his box organs. In terms of materials, layout and construction, wind supply, key mechanism and voicing, the progress has been such that one can speak of a mature musical instrument, a box organ that meets the highest demands of professional musicians.
