Box Organs

Johan Deblieck’s box organs have brought him international fame. By definition, box organs are small, and their design is therefore one of the greatest challenges to an organ builder. A beautiful sound is the foremost concern, but no less important is the fact that this sound must provide the basis for ensembles both large and small. There are also practical requirements of tuning stability, transport and durability. Through his many years of experience and intensive contact with leading musicians, Johan Deblieck has continued to evolve the basic model of his box organs. With regard to materials, design and construction, winding, action and voicing, he has made such progress that one can truly speak of a mature musical instrument, a box organ that meets the most exacting requirements of professional musicians.
